Believing in promoting the role of the local community in problem-solving, the Syrian Society for Social Development (SSSD) in Homs, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), launched a community-based initiative in the town of Naara under the title “Installation of an iron railing on the water stream in the town of Naara”.

Since safe playing and recreation is an inalienable right of children, the Syrian Society for Social Development (SSSD) team in Qadmus, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), launched a community-based initiative at al-Maidan Park, Qadmus, under the title “Child-friendly space”.

Believing in supporting grassroot solutions to local problems, the Syrian Society for Social Development (SSSD) in Rural Damascus, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), organized a community-based initiative under the title "Making mosquito nets”.

Teachers are definitely the cornerstone for the upbringing of generations. Believing in the crucial role of teachers in society, the team of the Syrian Society for Social Development (SSSD) in Hasakeh, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), launched a community-based initiative under the title “Teachers’ Break”. 

Voice of peace is a Grand community-based initiative which has been implemented by a group of Syrian youth with the support of the Syrian society for social development team in Baniyas  and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Believing in the ability of community members to cooperate and solve their own problems and in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Syrian Society for Social Development team in Suwayda organiz

         Due to the suffering of al-Shamieh neighborhood residents, al-Hameh, from the problem of sewage flood, and to meet their common need to solve this problem and protect their families from diseases caused by the resulting pollution, they cooperated to implement the Sewerage Repair Initiative with the support of SSSD and UNHCR Syria.

The SSSD Aleppo WASH team visited the team responsible for the cleanness of the city at the Aleppo City Council in order to meet garbage men and honor them for the work they do throughout the year on a daily basis. A personal hygiene basket was provided to each worker in recognition of the worth of cleaners and their indispensable role in our lives.

In view of the importance of education for children and on the occasion of the new school year, the SSSD PSS team (Hear My Heart Program), in cooperation with UNHCR Syria, held at the Harmony House and Butterfly Effect community centers at Jaramana, Rural Damascus, an awareness session entitled the New School Year.
