Providing Humanitarian Assistance (NFIs, Hygiene Kits), Idlib

In light of the precautionary and preventive measures to limit the spread of COVID-19, and to emphasize the importance of health practices, SSSD’s team distributed 3200 hygiene kits that included soap, washing powder, toilet papers, towels, 10 and 20 liter-bottles, lice shampoos, and diapers, in Hama. Furthermore, NFIs consisting blankets and winter jackets were also distributed.

The project targeted 16,000 people from the areas of Halfaya, Mork, Karna, Al-Asharna, Sheikh Hadid, Bridige, Sqeilbyeh, Souran, and the city of Hama, and from the shelters including Nasseh Alwani, Al-Baridi, Al-Hamoud, Al-Talmathah, Abraj Al-Baroudi, Itarat, Souran, Maardis, and Tibat Al-Imam.

Also, the project targeted 3,200 families, which included newly displaced families, host communities, and original residents of the targeted areas affected by the conflict within Idlib Governorate, Aleppo, and Hama.

During the distribution process, the team took all precautions, while adhering to the hygiene instructions in order to prevent COVID-19 infection.

The Beekeeping profession

The Beekeeping profession is known to be a great source of livelihood for young people as well as a profession that appeals to the rural population and nature lovers. The Syrian Society for Social Development in cooperation with Oxfam organized a training course in beekeeping within the beekeeping field of the Department of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform – Hama governate.
