The main objective of the Syrian Society for Social Development in conducting health and medical interventions is that persons with specific needs, suffering from a form of physical, sensory or mental disability, should carry on with their normal lives, preserve their dignity and reintegrate into community. The point is that PwSN are often the most vulnerable, which reduces their access to basic and other needs during crises.
This is done by serving people affected by the ongoing crisis and those in need of health care, whether by offering them medical examinations, diagnostic procedures (tests, imaging, etc.), distribution of medicines, surgical interventions (or by contributing to these), healthcare medical equipment (wheelchairs, eyeglasses, crutches, etc.), rehabilitation of dispensaries, etc. Such contributions are viewed as vital for rebalancing their lives and those of their families.
